The Fund for Elimination of Viral Hepatitis (DBA “EndHep2030”) announces a Call for Proposals for its inaugural set of grants (March 8, 2019. San Francisco, U.S.)
Nearly 330 million people have chronic hepatitis B or C virus infection, and viral hepatitis is the seventh leading cause of death globally, with 1.4 million deaths due to viral hepatitis each year. While highly effective prevention and treatment tools exist, several barriers keep countries from properly addressing viral hepatitis. Through its catalytic funding, EndHep2030 seeks to speed the elimination of viral hepatitis. EndHep2030 invites organizations to partner with EndHep2030 to tackle the difficult, yet solvable, problems for reaching viral hepatitis elimination goals, and therefore, prevent deaths associated with severe liver disease, including liver cancer.
EndHep2030, formally referred to as The Fund for Elimination of Viral Hepatitis, is the only grant-making organization dedicated exclusively to the mission of ending viral hepatitis in accordance with the Global Health Sector Strategy for Viral Hepatitis, as well as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. EndHep2030 is fiscally sponsored by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors and is led by an Oversight Committee comprised of distinguished individuals with a range of experience in viral hepatitis.
As described in the Call for Proposals for its inaugural set of grants, EndHep2030 seeks partners with innovative approaches for accelerating the elimination of viral hepatitis with respect to two tracks: using data to inform planning and financing and developing programs to deliver services. EndHep2030 expects approximately USD 4.2 million will be available for awards for both tracks combined.
A complete list of eligibility requirements, selection criteria, and additional details regarding the application process are available at www.endhep2030.org/grants.
